When being you isn't easy...

You feel different. It's hard to explain and confusing at times. You don't know why, you just do. You don't seem to have the same interests as your friends. You don't feel comfortable in your own skin.  You feel like you should be someone else. Sometimes you're not sure who you are and you feel like you don't fit in. Sometimes you feel like you're two different people. Sometimes you're confused about who you love. Are you homeless & have nowhere to go? Maybe you feel lonely and isolated? Feel like you should be someplace else? Have you tried to "come out" and were badly treated? Are you having issues with being overweight? Are you or have you ever been teased or bullied or physically/verbally abused just for being who you are? Or because you may have special needs? Or because you don't think the same way as others? Have you contemplated suicide or are into substance abuse to escape the pain? Are you afraid to talk about it? If you answered "yes" to any or all of the above and don't know where to turn for help, please know, first and foremost, that you are NOT alone. Many other young people share the same feelings and are reluctant to voice them to others, fearing that they will be further ridiculed or bullied, misunderstood, or worse. This blog isn't intended to give you all the answers but is here to provide information and links to places and organizations that are qualified to help you explore, answer your questions and point you in the right direction so you can take that first step to getting help and living the best life possible.
